Well last week we sent in our pre-application to sign up to adopt through Family Life Services, right here in Lynchburg. The process is that you have to fill out the pre-application, then if you are accepted they tell you, you can fill out your full application. Once the full application has been reviewed & accepted you will start your home study, and your trainings. After that time you make a scrapbook of your family so that the birth mothers can look through & see if you would be a good fit for their child. So once you are selected by a girl then you will be on your way. So we are in the very beginning stages, but last night we got this email:
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson:
From your pre-application it would appear that your family would be readily accepted as an adoptive couple. Therefore, I am writing to ask that you complete the full Adoptive Home Application and budget form found on our website www.godparent.org.
Please let me know if you have questions or need further information.
Sincerely,
Rose Marie Owens
And so we are on our way! We are starting to fill out the full Adoptive Home Application this weekend & will send it in next week! We are really excited for this journey & know that God has His hand on it the whole way! We are just on the boat riding along! :)
